PSP MEMORY CARD
PSP MEMORY CARD
The Sony PSP Memory Stick is a crucial part of the PSP platform. The PSP Memory Card is basically the Sony Memory Stick that is only compatible with Sony products. Some of the products that the memory stick is compatible with are Sony PS3, CyberShot digital cameras, Sony PlayStation Portables (PSP), and handheld camcorders. These digital memory sticks will not work with other products and are made typically for just Sony products. The PSP memory stick is used as a storage media for the Sony PlayStation portable which allows for easy data transfers from one entertainment medium to another. For example, if you have a Sony MP3, you could transfer songs from your digital music device to your Sony PSP via the memory stick. This can also be done between digital cameras and the PSP. The PSP is a multi-media device that can play games, view photos, and is a digital media player. Also, the PSP memory card can be inserted into the Sony VAIO computers.
If you plan on purchasing a 8gb PSP memory card, make sure to purchase the Duo and PRO Duo for your PSP. This is important as you will want to save your saved game data to this card as well as music, pictures, videos and video games. The downside about these memory cards are that they can be quite costly compared to the typical compact flash or secure digital memory card. However, competition has dictated price and the SanDisk company has created their own versions of the PSP memory cards and a considerably lower price. Another complaint about the Sony memory stick is that it tends to have lower storage capacity than secure digital cards. However, this is the price that you’ll have to pay if you want a Sony PSP.
The higher end Sony PSPs have an internal storage capacity of 64 megabytes, but can be extended with the 4gb psp memory card.
